Genesis Invitational will be played at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego next month and moves from Eldclara Los Angeles, announced the PGA tour Friday.

The Riviera Country Club is in the hard-hit Pacific Palisad part of Los Angeles and would hold the February 13-16 tournament, which is hosted by Tiger Woods and his foundation. Palisades fire has burned 23,400 acres and is 75 percent found per report.

“We are grateful to the city of San Diego and Torrey Pines to host 2025 Genesis Invitational and to anyone who has reached support for the tournament,” Woods said in a news message. “While Riviera remains the home for Genesis Invitational, we look forward to playing on another golf course in championship inferior and using the tournament to support those affected by the fires in the Los Angeles area.”

Torrey Pines, an annual tour stop since 1968, is the site of this week’s Farmers Insurance Open. The municipal course also hosted the United States in 2008 and 2021, won by Woods and Spanish Jon Rahm.

PGA Tour said that Genesis Invitational is expected to return to Riviera 2026. The course is also scheduled to host the golf events in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

Meanwhile, San Diego was happy to go in.

“It was an honor for the city of San Diego to raise our collective hand when we were given the opportunity to help our neighbors in Los Angeles as they recover from the ongoing devastating fire fires,” said Mayor Todd Gloria. “We look forward to welcoming Genesis Invitational in February and offering our full support for the PGA tour.”
