After a series victory in New York, San Francisco Giants can take a set from Philadelphia Phillies as they continue their 10-match road trip on Thursday afternoon.

Giants captured two of three matches against Yankees over the weekend and has taken two of the first three in his four-game series with Phillies.

Mike Yastrzemski, Jung Hoo Lee, Wilmer Flores and Patrick Bailey each ran in two runs in an 11-4 victory Wednesday when San Francisco improved to 9-3 on the road this season.

“I am asked a lot about the elasticity,” said Giants -Manager Bob Melvin. “We have shown that all season. That’s who these guys are.”

Giants destroyed a 4-2 lead on Wednesday before recovering to do the last seven runs. Much of their injury came to an uncharacterist wild Aaron Nola, who went four in to 0-4 this season.

“They’re a scary team,” Nola said. “They found a few holes and got some good hits. They put some pressure on me.”

At the same time, Lou Trivino logged two speechless rounds of relief to win the victory for San Francisco. He combined with Camilo Doval and Spencer Bivens to allow just one hit over five speechless frames in relief by Robbie Ray.

“I think this team is very talented,” Trivino said. “It’s amazing to see what kind of pitching we have. Just to be a part of that I am very grateful.”

Jordan Hicks (1-1, 5.87 era) will strive to continue that theme when he gets the nod for San Francisco on Thursday. The hard-throwing right hand handed seven runs in four rounds Saturday in an 8-4 loss to Yankees after two productive starts to start their season.

“I feel I had some good stuff today, probably threw some too many fast balls,” Hicks said after that game, noting that the cold and rainy conditions in New York were among the worst he has ever put in. “I had the off-speed to work, so I should have just thrown more of it and mixed it better. Live and learn and move on to the next.

Hicks has appeared in 13 career games against Phillies, but only a start. He is 3-1 with a lifetime of 2.81 era against them.

Cristopher Sanchez (1-0, 3.12) will get the ball for Philadelphia when the left hand looks to win its second straight start. He defeated St. Louis 4-1 on Saturday and limited the Cardinals to a run and eight hits over 6 1/3 rounds.

He was favored by inducing double players in four of the first five rounds.

“It also keeps me in the game,” Sanchez said of the twin murder. “That’s one of the reasons I could stay out until the seventh round. I love double games. The defense did a good job today.”

Sanchez has made three performances (one start) against Giants in his career and goes 1-0 with a 0.84 era. One start came last season, when he dropped San Francisco over six rounds in a 6-1 victory on May 29.

After Thursday’s competition, Giants will go to Anaheim, California, for a three-game set against Los Angeles Angels. Phillies hosted Miami Marlins for a weekend series.
