Gina and Mazz Murray have been announced as hosts for next month’s WhatsOnStage Awards.
The annual ceremony – which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary – will take place on Sunday 9 February 2025 at the iconic London Palladium, and will once again honor excellence in theater and the arts, both here in London’s West End and beyond.
Together with creative directors Alex Parker and Damian Sandys, the event will see a series of winners crowned in a variety of categories, alongside exclusive live performances from top stage talent accompanied by a 24-piece orchestra.
Uniquely among theater awards, all winners are voted for entirely by the public, making them a reflection of public opinion rather than the decisions of industry insiders. Voting for this year’s event closed earlier this week.
Established in 2001, the WhatsOnStage Awards highlight the best performances, productions and creative contributions in theatre.
Key categories include Best Actor and Actress in a Play, Best Actor and Actress in a Musical, Best Supporting Actor, Best New Play and Best New Musical, Best Direction, Best West End Show, Best Takeover of a Role, as well as several technical categories such as lighting , sound and choreography.
In recent years, the ceremony has celebrated diversity, emerging talent and blockbuster productions, most notably musicals such as Hamilton, Sex the Musicaland Came from Away.
Beloved by fans up and down the country, sisters Gina and Mazz Murray both have some major theater credits to their names!
Gina, who has long had a strong presence in London’s West End, has won rave reviews for her performances in Chicago, The whole Montyand Love me tenderwhile sister Mazz has won a legion of fans for playing roles such as the Killer Queen in the London production of We will rock youand Donna Sheridan in Oh mom!.
