Although Baltimore Raven’s head of Eric Decosta spoke glowing about Mark Andrews on Tuesday, he was not ready to commit himself to having the veteran -string end of the guard list this season.
Andrews, 29, enters the last season of his four -year contract of $ 56 million, but Ravens could save $ 11 million against the lid by dropping or trading him.
“I never know what will happen, and I would never want to say this or that, but I can tell you this: Mark Andrews is a warrior, and he has played his butt for us, and his competitiveness, his talent, his attitude, his leadership is so valued here,” said Decosta. “He is an amazing player, and we are in the industry to keep as many fantastic players as we can, so there is always a lot of unpredictability with the draft. You just never know.”
Andrews has spent his entire career with Ravens, but his last game was a crushing. He lost a pass on a two-point transformation with 1:33 in the fourth quarter which would have bound the AFC Divisional Round game against Buffalo Bills.
Andrews, an All-Pro who has spent seven seasons with Ravens, ended the game with five receptions of seven goals at 61 meters. He also lost a fumble during the fourth quarter that the bills recovered and turned into three points. It was just his second career lost Fumble.
Andrews recorded 55 catches for 673 meters with a team pile 11 touchdowns in 17 matches last season.
Fellow tight end Isaiar probably, 24, put career heights last season in receptions (42), receiving farms (477) and touchdowns (six).
