Austin FC will carry a winning line in two games as they travel north to play St. Louis City on Sunday afternoon.

Austin FC (3-2-0, 9 points) has never beaten St. Louis City and lost three of the four matches all the time between the pages with one move. Austin FC’s only score in Matchupen came in a 2-2 tie at home in March last season.

Verde leads to the road after a 2-1 home victory during the first year San Diego FC last Sunday. Brandon Vasquez and Jon Gallagher scored Austin FC during the opening 19 minutes before admitting in the 27th minute and stayed behind a three-rescue effort from the goalkeeper Brad Stuver.

Verde has found a winning formula for the past two weeks, transformation from a team that played for possession in their first three matches to just 30.4 percent possession against San Diego FC when coach Nico Estevez has stacked Austin to play on the counter attack.

“I learn every week,” Estevez said. “Just trying to do my best to put each player in the best position to perform. I think we will close to connect all dots, and then (we will) see a team that is really fun to look at.”

St. Louis City (2-1-2, 8 points) goes home after a 1-0 loss on Philadelphia last Saturday. They played a man down for the last 24 minutes after midfielder Eduard Lowen drew two yellow cards within 11 minutes.

St. Louis City managed only one shot on goal but stayed in the match thanks to eight rescues from goalkeeper Ben Lundt.

“I was really disappointed over the beginning of the match. That’s not what we agreed,” St. said Louis City coach Olof Mellberg. “After that we chased the game. We need better quality of the ball.

“We have been improved since the season and we get better with every exercise, every game. We still have a lot of work to do.”

St. Louis has only allowed one goal, the smallest of all teams this season. Austin is tied for second place in the league with only three goals allowed over five matches.

Before the loss in Philadelphia, St. Louis City produced two shut -off winnings, against the Los Angeles Galaxy and Seattle Sounders respectively. They opened the season with back-to-back targeted features to bind a league record with four consecutive clean sheets to open one season.
