Notes: This is the fourth of eight signature events with limited fields, with an increased purse and 700 FedEx Cup points. It is also one of three player-coughing events, with sponsorship invitations given to Rafael Campos, Mackenzie Hughes, My Woo Lee and Justin Rose. The 72 player event will be cut to the low 50 players and bands along with additional players within 10 strokes from the lead after 36 holes. … The field has 38 of the 40 best players in the official world golfing and 47 of the 50 best. … Auburn Sophomore Jackson Koivun is in the field on the Arnold Palmer Cup exception. … the event has not been decided by a playoffs since 1999, although 13 of the 25 masters have since won a single blow. … Payne Stewart has the tournament points on 264 in 1987.
Best bets: Scottie Scheffler (+320 at Draftkings) won by five strokes last year, the biggest victory margin on Bay Hill since Tiger Woods won five in 2012. It was one of four signature event victories by Scheffler last year at the top of Players Championship and Masters. … Rory Mcilroy (+750) won at Bay Hill 2018 and has played in the event every year since his debut 2015. … Ludvig Aberg (+1600) comes from his second victory in 40 careers PGA Tour starts. Together with a victory on Genesis, he quit T5 on Sentry and led the farmers until they got sick. … Xander Schauffele (+1800) returns from a rib injury to make its first start since a T30 on Sentry. … Tommy Fleetwood (+3000) is the 10th world ranking while he comes from a T5 on Genesis.
