Notes: This is the second signature event of the year. The tournament has a $ 20 million without cut tournament and increased the FedEx Cup score. After playing with amateurs on each of the courses during the first two rounds, all 80 professionals will only play on the weekend at Pebble Beach. … The field includes 45 of the 50 best players in the official world gol frank. No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and No. 3 Rory Mcilroy are scheduled to make their 2025 PGA Tour debut. Scheffler has recovered from hand surgery, while McIlroy bands for fourth at Dubai Desert Classic. … No. 77 Jordan Spieth will also compete for the first time since August. He has recovered from spinal surgery and is in the field on a sponsorship exemption together with Rickie Fowler, Gary Woodland and Harry Hall. Woodland won the 2019 US Open on Pebble Beach. … No. 2 Xander Schauffele remains on the side of a rib injury that forced him to withdraw from the previous two events as well. The only other eligible player who is not in the field is No. 58 Alex Noren. … Clark shot a course record 60 in the third round on the way to win the event was shortened to 54 holes last year due to the weather. The last player who successfully defended at Pebble Beach was Dustin Johnson in 2010.
Best bets: Scottie Scheffler (+400 at Draftkings) is the overwhelming favorite before the tournament even though it went up this week for the first time since he won the Hero World Challenge in early December. He won four signature events last year. … Mcilroy (+1100) comes from a solid show in Dubai, but missed the average here in 2018 and bound for 66th last year … … Justin Thomas (+1400) is up to the 14th world after his Runner at Amex. … Collin Morikawa (+1400) finished in second place at Sentry in his lonely beginning of the year so far. … Ludvig Aberg (+1800) band for fifth at Sentry and was the first round with a 63 last week before he was content with a T4 while he struggled with a disease over the weekend.
