Charlotte Hornet’s star guard Lamelo Ball is injured again, with his right ankle that forces him to miss the last three quarters of a loss of 97-89 to Brooklyn Nets on Monday in New York.

Ball missed five matches bridging January and February due to a understood left ankle before playing 36 minutes against San Antonio Spurs on Friday. He then sat out against the Detroit pistons on Sunday because of the left ankle’s tenderness.

Now the 23-year-old is in danger of missing more time, although he said he does not think his latest ankle damage is serious.

Charlotte will play again on Wednesday and make a trip to Orlando for a meeting with Magic before he has a week free for the All-Star break.

Ball played only 10 minutes on Monday. He finished with five points on 2-of-5 shooting to go with one rebound and three assists.

In 33 matches (all starts) this season, Ball has an average of 27.3 points, 5.1 boards and 7.2 assists.
