Entertainer and Step Megastar Ian H Watkins is set to change pop for literature, with the launch of its debut children’s book Pride and the warriors of the rainbow.
Illustrated by award -winning Welsh artists and designers David GregoryThe enchanting book sees ‘Rainbow Warriors’ Due to a journey to teach readers of all ages the definition, history and importance of pride and what it means to be included in the LGBTQ+ community.
In addition to strengthening the message to children that being different is their superpower, the warriors also serve to inform readers that pride is a safe space that allows people to be open about themselves without being judged by others, as they celebrate what makes them unique.
“‘Rainbow Warriors’ Is the book I wish I had had when I was younger, “says Ian.” When I was growing up, I did not see myself in the stories I heard. This book celebrates diversity and reminds everyone that they belong exactly as they are. It is a story about treating people with respect and about celebrating all the wonderful things that make us different. ”
Ian H Watkins first rose to fame at the end of the 1990s as a member of the British pop group Step.
Known for hits including ‘5, 6, 7, 8’The ‘One for mourning’The ‘Stomp’ and ‘Afraid of darkness’So far, the group has sold over 22 million records all over the world and achieved four British numbers 1 album over four decades.
Away from the pop world, Watkins has appeared in various theater productions, especially Joseph and the fantastic Technicolor Dreamcoat and FameLike on reality shows Celebrity Big BrotherThe Tumble and Finds Hunt Famous Finds.
By 2020, Ian made history as half of the first mating of the same sex on ITV’s dance on ice and became a visible advocate for LGBTQ+ representation in mainstream media. He is also the founder of Cowbridge Pride, a community -led celebration of inclusion and equality in South Wales.
Now, a new chapter embraces as a painter, his artwork has been a resounding success, with several sold out exhibitions around the UK.
