Trey Galloway scored 16 points, including a 3-pointer as part of a late 12-0 driving when Indiana collected from down 10 to defeat Ohio State 66-60 in Bloomington, Ind., In the regular season final on Saturday.
Indiana broke a 56-56 tie on two foul shoots from Malik Reneau with 2:56 left.
Ohio State turned it on a watch violation and Galloway nailed a 3-point with 1:24 left. Luke Godede met two from the line to make it 63-56 at the brand 1:05.
Bruce Thornton made it 63-58 with two foul shots but Buckeyes did not come any further.
Indiana (19-12, 10-10 Big Ten) secured no. Buckeyes (17-14, 9-11) as No. 10 Seeds Wednesday and must win five matches in five days to get the automatic qualification for the NCAA tournament.
Indiana probably received at least one large bid for the NCAA tournament while Buckeyes is on the bubble.
Reneau also got 16 when Hoosiers won for the fourth time in five matches.
Micah Parrish had 19 points and Devin Royal added 13 for Buckeyes, who shot 38.2 percent from the field and missed 18 of their 26 3-point attempt.
It was a lot of emotions not only for Senior Day but also Indiana’s Mike Woodson trained his last home game after the school’s February 7 announcement that he would not return to the 2025-26 season.
Woodson has a record of 82-52 in his fourth season.
Indiana deleted a 10-point deficit in a four-minute span to bind it at 49 with eight minutes left, and a minute later took its first lead since 15:48 in the first half when Reneau hit two foul shots.
Royal’s Jumper regained the lead for Buckeyes at the next possession and the game went back and forth from there.
Thornton, Ohio State’s leading goal scorer (17.8), had nine points on 2-AV-10 shooting from the floor.
Ohio State held a lead of 29-25 half-time after a short nine-point advantage (26-17) with just under four minutes left.
