Imaging free agents and potential trading goals Kyle Palmieri and Brock Nelson made each Tuesday night in what may have been their last match with New York Islanders, who beat the visiting Winnipeg Jets 3-2 in Elmont, NY

The goals were the 20th season for both Palmieri, a member of the islanders since 2021, and Nelson, who was prepared by the club in 2010 and played their 901th match for the franchise.

Ryan Pulock made in the third for the Islanders, who are three points behind the New York Rangers and the Detroit Red Wings in the race for the last Eastern Conference Wild card site.

The islanders do not play again until they visit the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night, one day after the trade deadline.

Goalkeeper Ilya Sorokin made 26 rescues that New York won for the third time in four games.

Josh Morrissey and Nikolaj Ehlers made power play for the NHL leading Jets, who have dropped three straight (0-2-1). Goalkeeper Connor Hellebuyck recorded 26 rescues.

Palmieri made on power play with 3:11 in the first with an assist from Nelson, who doubled the lead only 93 seconds into the middle period. Nelson struggled for Corral Noah Dobson’s Clearing Pass but managed to take place to Maxim Tsyplakov, who had the puck look from his skating and his stick before returning over the fold to Nelson, who buried his shot in the wide open corner of the net.

Jets snapped his Power-Play-dry at the 8:48 brand, when Morrissey’s shot from the high slot looked from the islanders Simon Holmström and avoids Pulock before it was sorokin. The Power-Play goal snapped a 0-for-17 drought for Winnipeg which goes back to a 4-3 victory over the islands on February 7.

Pulock was favored by a little puck happiness when he extended the islanders 4:03 to the third. The defender’s shot from just in front of the blue line looked at the skating from Jets’ Alex Iafallo and changed direction as it passed Hellebuyck.
