Jason Day withdrew from Players Championship an hour before being planned on Thursday morning due to a disease.

Danny Walker replaced Day, which is ranked as No. 33 in the world and has a 2016 Players Championship title among its 13 PGA Tour victories. He ended up in 35th place in 2024.

The Australians reunited with its former swing coach, Colin Swatton, after a seven-year interruption and entered the tournament after a T-8 finish last week at Arnold Palmer Invitational. Day has two top-10 ends in six events to start the season.

Day, 37, won the PGA Championship in 2015 and spent 47 weeks in a row on top of the official World Gol France 2016-17.

However, the day began to suffer from chronic lower back injuries and eventually dropped as low as the 175th ranking to start in 2023. The rear issues even had to consider pension.
