Jennie releases “Love Mangover”, a haunting soundtrack to Toxic Love

Blackpinks Jennie turns heartbeat into high art with “Love Mangover”, her latest solo single – and it is as intoxicating as the title suggests. The Blackpink Star, who joins with rising alt/india star Dominic Fike, reveals a leaf, emotionally raw mid-tempo ballad that beautifully captures the staggering heights and intestinal cutting lows of a toxic romance.

The quilt was dropped on January 31 at 14 kst via Oddatelier and Columbia Records and offers an attractive preview of Jennie’s long -awaited debut album, Ruby. “We say it is over / But I continue with you / And every time I do, I wake up with this love’s backstroke,” Jennie Croons, her voice drops of longing. Fike reflects its anxiety in the male verse and turns the song into a spooky beautiful duet that perfectly captures the bitter-sweet, relentless loop of the drunkenness of love.

The music video, directed by the visionary duo Bradley & Pablo – known for their work with Harry Styles and Lil Nas – gives “Love Mangover” to life with striking pictures and a surreal story. It follows Jennie through a series of bad dates, each spiral in chaos. In the lead role of Riverdales Charles Melton as her lover on the screen, the video shows a nightmare bike of convicted romance, topped with monster attacks, disastrous dinners and an eerie sense of inevitability. Shots against the lively background in Mexico City, it mixes dark humor with bold aesthetics, making it one of Jennie’s most conceptually ambitious projects to date.

In case of release, Love hangover Made an immediate impact, to No. 1 on iTunes in 20 countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, India, Armenia, the Philippines, Brazil, Mexico and Peru. The official music video is currently the No. 2 trends video worldwide and maps in 54 countries. As the third single from Ruby– Following the success of the “mantra” and the surprise drop “Zen” – the track further solidifies Jennie’s dominance as a solo power plant in the industry. And with an impressive assortment of collaborators, including Dua Lipa, Childish Gambino, Doechii, FKJ and Kali Uchis, her upcoming 15-track album shapes itself to be a genre-ordeal proof of her artistic evolution.

And she doesn’t stay there. Addition to the increasing expectation Jennie has announced Ruby experienceAn exclusive three-city event celebrating the album’s release. The event starts with two performances at the Los Angeles Peacock Theater (March 6 and 7), followed by a stop in New York’s iconic Radio City Music Hall (March 10), before ending in Seoul (March 15). Tickets for the US date are sold today at 10 local time.

With Ruby Selecting her first full -length solo project since her breakout 2018 met “solo”, expectation could not be higher. But if “Love Mangover” is something to pass by, Jennie is not just to regain the limelight – she commands it.
