The New York Jets has informed the veteran -quarter Aaron Rodgers that they are moving on without him.
“Last week we met Aaron and shared that our intention was to move in a different direction at Quarterback,” said Jet’s head coach Aaron Glenn and General Manager Darren Muey in a statement released by the team on Thursday.
“It was important to have this discussion now to give clarity and make it possible for each of us the right time to plan for our respective future. We want to thank him for the leadership, passion and commitment that he brought to the organization and wishes him success to move forward. ”
Rodgers, 41, joined Jets in the middle of a lot of fanfare for the 2023 season but suffered a seasonal Achilles injury in more open. “I personally want to thank Aaron for his time at New York Jets,” said Jets chairman Woody Johnson in a statement released by the team. “His arrival in 2023 was met with unlimited excitement and I will always be grateful that he chose to join us to continue his Hall of Fame career.
“From first day, he embodied everything that meant to be a New York -jet, embraced our fans and immersed himself in our city. That’s what I will remember most when I look back on his time here. He will always Be welcome, and I wish him only the best in whatever he chooses to do next.

Rodgers has options if he wants to continue playing in the NFL. Las Vegas Raiders and Cleveland Browns are at the top of the list of teams that need a start -quarterback, but Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans and New York Giants are also among teams that can be in the mix.
Rodgers spent 18 seasons with Green Bay Packers before moving on Jets. The future Pro Football Hall of Fame member and four times NFL etc. ranks in the top 10 in NFL history in many statistical categories.
He is first in passing ratings (102.6), fifth in career touchdown pass (503) and seventh in both passport connections (5 369) and passed farms (62 952).
Jets will have a new look in many ways next season. In addition to Glenn and Muey, the team will have a new offensive coordinator in Tanner Engstrand and largely a new coaching staff.
Without Rodgers, the New York Veteran Tyrod Taylor, Jordan Travis and Adrian Martinez have as quarterbacks under contract.
Jets also has number 7 in April NFL draft.
