Julian Phillip’s career night carries bulls past wizards

Julian Phillips published career heights in points and rebounding, and Chicago cruised past Washington Wizards 119-89 in Bulls’ regular season final on Friday.

Phillips 23 points led all goal scores and stimulated five bullscores with at least 12 points. Among them was Nikola Vucevic, who flirted with a triple double of 15 points, 12 returns and eight assists. Phillips finished with nine returns.

Chicago (38-43) was dragged by a point early in the second quarter before going on a 20-4 driving. Six different bulls did in the decisive stretch, which gave the Chicago the lead for good.

Bulls doubled a 15-point half-time lead late in the third quarter. Chicago’s advantage balloned to as many as 33 points in the fourth.

Bulls held Washington (17-64) to just 35-of-91 (38.5 percent) shooting from the floor, including 10 out of 41 from the 3-point area, while forcing 18 sales.

Chicago converted sales to 23 points and exceeded the magicians on quick opportunities, 21-6.

Feda’s Buzelis got 20 points for the bulls. His 3-of-6 shooting from the 3-point area matched Philips for the team.

Coby White scored 16 points, took nine returns and drew four assists. The speeches Horton-Tucker scored 12 points from the bench and led Chicago to an advantage of 38-23 in reserve points.

Bulls Security Copies Zach Collins and Jevon Carter each in eight points when Chicago won his fifth in the last six matches.

Justin Champagnie finished with 22 points and a game -high 14 returns to lead Washington. Bub Carrington added an 18-point, 11-assist double-double.

Rookie Alex Sarr, who entered Friday’s competition after scoring goals in double numbers in five straight matches, finished with seven points on 3-AV-15 shooting.

Chicago dressed the No. 9 seed in the eastern conference with the victory, which means that Bulls will be worth No. 10 Miami in a play-in game.
