Julio Rodriguez met a massive two-run Homer and Bryan Woo continued his mastery of athletics when host Seattle Mariners got a split of their season opening, four-game series with a 2-1 victory Sunday afternoon.

Rodriguez’s 438-foot shot at the bottom of the sixth round, after Victor Robles reached on a one-out Infield single, landed three rows from the top of upper deck in the left field.

“It is the best feeling in the world to square such a ball,” Rodriguez said on the show after the game on root sports before being dated by Robes with a water cooler while standing outside the hometown.

Woo (1-0) allowed a run of three hits over six rounds, with two walks and five strikes. The right-wing retailer, native of Alameda, California, which is adjacent to Athletics’ former home in Oakland, improved to 6-0 in seven career starts against A’s by a 0.72 era-which actually rose from 0.57 into the day.

Gregory Santos, Trent Thornton and Andres Munoz each beat a speechless inning of relief for the sailors, with Munoz who worked the ninth and knocked out a couple for his second rescue of the season.

Tyler Suderstrom led the fourth round with a solo home run to the left field to give A’s 1-0 lead. It was Sderstrom’s third solo shot of the series after meeting a couple on the opening night.

The only other hits woo gave up was a one-out infield single by Jacob Wilson in the second and a two-out double to the left of JJ Bleday in the third.

A’s Lefty JP Sears (0-1) was the hard loser. He allowed two runs on five hits over 6 2/3 rounds, without walking and seven strikes. Sears never allowed a Baserunner to reach point position, as

Robles was at the first base when Rodriguez went deep on a hanging slider for the first pitch.
