Sacramento Kings star Big Man Demanded Sabonis injured his right ankle during Monday night’s victory over Memphis Grizzlies and could be in danger of missing some games.

As a minimum, the kings will list Saboni’s availability for Wednesday’s home game against Cleveland Cavaliers sometime on Tuesday.

Sabonis recently missed six matches with a hamstring injury. The 132-122 victory over Memphis was his second match back.

Monday was not an easy night for sabonis because he originally left less than three minutes into the match with blood spilled down his face and an incision over his left eye. He suffered the cut that threw in the back of Grizzlies forward Luke Kennard’s head.

Sabonis returned during the third quarter but rolled the ankle and went for good. He only played 12 minutes and had six points and four assists.

“I’m always worried when my teammate is not on court, man,” said Kings Guard Malik Monk. “I really didn’t see the game until I looked up, but it looked pretty bad. But the verdict is strong; he will probably come back before we think.”

A possibly narrative connection is that King’s signed Terry Taylor to a 10-day contract on Tuesday. Taylor played for the team’s G League club in Stockton and was on average 17.5 points, 8.4 returns and 3.4 assists in 28 matches.

Taylor played in 95 games in the last three seasons with Indiana Pacers (2021-23) and Chicago Bulls (2023-24). He owns a cut average of 4.8 points and 2.7 returns.

Sacramento (34-33) lives in ninth place in the Western conference and currently has a play-in position.
