Atlanta Falcon Quarterback Kirk Cousins was discovered on a northeastern Ohio Chipotle on Thursday afternoon and led trade speculation.
Cousins, 36, were not released by Falcons earlier this season and are now the highest paid backup quarter hill in NFL history. Although they were left on the guard list, Falcons was able to decide to buy him around April’s NFL draft.
It is not publicly known if Falcons has given cousins permission to seek a trade, but no one denies that he spent time in Cleveland. According to NFL Networks Ian Rapoport, Cousin’s viral visit to Westlake, Ohio, Chipotle “was not NFL related.”
Cousin’s agent, Mike McCartney from Vayner Sports, joked about how the viral visit blasted his phone.
Last season, Falcon acquired cousins before preparing Michael Penix Jr. from Washington. After an NFL investigation found that the team had manipulated with cousins outside the legal free agency period, Falcon’s fine of $ 250,000 received. General Manager Terry Fontenot was fined $ 50,000, and the club was forced to lose a fifth round draft.
It is likely why Rapoport and McCartney were quick to turn off rumors about why cousins were in a Cleveland suburb. But let’s be honest: cousins were probably not vacation in Cleveland in March.
It’s no secret that Cleveland Browns needs a quarterback.
Earlier this week, they spent time in Miami with Cam Ward, which is expected to be the total election no. 1 in the upcoming NFL draft. They will meet Colorado -quarterback Shedeur Sanders next week and have spent a long time with Jaxson Dart and Jalen Milroe as well.
In free agency, Browns missed at Russell Wilson, who had a visit to Cleveland earlier this month before choosing to write with New York Giants. Their remaining free agent options include a reunion with former Brown Quarterback Joe Flacco or signs Carson Wentz, although none of the movements are particularly appealing.
Trade for cousins, who is familiar with head coach Kevin Stefanski’s crime from his time with Minnesota Vikings, would make sense for the brown – especially if they are not fond of choosing a quarterback on No. 2 in total.
Cousins, who struggled last season in Atlanta after recovering from a broken Achilles, would provide Browns with a veteran bridge -quarterback and let them choose Penn State Linebacker Abdul Carter or Heisman Trophy winner Travi’s Hunter on No. 2 Total.
At the moment, Cousin’s trip to Cleveland was technically not NFL-related. Sure. Why get chipotle at home when you can fly to one of the most quarterback needs cities in the country for your double chicken salad?
