Several teams asked about the availability of Franchise-labeled Bengal’s wide receiver Tee Higgins, but Cincinnati’s appetite for dismissal with No. 2 receiver remains unclear, according to reports.
Given the franchise company for the second year in a row, Higgins would lock in an annual salary worth $ 26.2 million if he signs the tender offer from Bengals.
Cincinnati’s public position has been Higgins is not available. The Bengals also have a number of other contract situations to deal with.
Bengals and Higgins have until July 15 to meet a long -term contract agreement. The trade value established in accordance with CBA’s terms on franchisees would be two first drafts of the first round.
Bengal’s head of player staff Duke Tobin said that last month at the NFL Scouting Combine the team’s preference is to keep Higgins.
But negotiations can be difficult with defensive ending Trey Hendrickson and all-pro-broad recipient Ja’marr Chase in line for new contracts. Cincinnati signed at Hendrickson who shopped his services on Thursday.
Chase enters the last year of its contract and is not expected to play next season without a new business on site. The strategy was used by Dallas Cowboy’s wide receiver Ceedee Lamb and San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk last summer. In both cases, the team went to finish the suspension and both players showed up with almost top-by-market long-term offers.
Higgins, 26, played in 12 matches (nine starts) in 2024 and took 10 TD passes with 73 receptions for 911 meters. He has 34 career Touchdowns, 330 catches and 4595 meters in 70 regular seasonal games (62 starts) since he was selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft. The Bengals used number 1 in the same draft to choose Quarterback Joe Burrow, who said he would be disappointed if Higgins does not come back.
Hendrickson, 30, led the NFL in sacks with 17.5 2024, the same number he reached in 2023 after joining a contract extension through 2025.
