After months of speculation around Kevin de BruyneS future on Manchester CityThe club legend has finally made his decision. In an emotional letter shared on social media, De Bruyne confirmed that he will leave the club at the end of the 2024-25 season.
With its contract that will expire in June 2025, early season talks about a potential extension that has never gained momentum. Recurring rear stroke and a dip in shape have ultimately led to a mutual decision to share roads. De Bruyne made the announcement via (formerly Twitter) and over all his social platforms:
“Dear Manchester, when you see this, you probably realize where this is going. So I come to it straight and let you all know that these will be my last months as Manchester City player. Nothing about this is easy to write but as a football player we all know this day eventually comes. That day is here- and you deserve to hear that from me first“The letter started.
“Football led to you all- and to this city. To chase my dream, not to know this period would change my life. This city. This club. These people … gave me everything. I had no choice but to give everything back! And guess what- we won everything.

“Whether we like it or not, it’s time to say goodbye, suri, rome, maso, michele and i am very grateful for what this place has been due to our family. ‘Manchester’ will always be on our children’s passports – and even more important, in each of our hearts.
