Lewis Hamilton has its first Formula 1 victory under his belt with Ferrari.

Hamilton, just his second weekend driving for Ferrari, qualified at Poland and won the 19-lantern sprint race on Saturday morning before qualification for Sunday’s Chinese Grand Prix.

“From lap 1 here this weekend I’ve felt it,” Hamilton told ESPN. “The engineers have done a good job, the mechanics have done a good job to really fine-tune the car-it felt good today, I got a good start, there is so much grip on this new asphalt that it is difficult to take care of these new tires, and I think everyone struggled out there.”

Hamilton got eight points for the Sprint Race victory and gave new hope for Ferrari’s ambitions after some opening rounds in Australia.

“The first race was difficult and obviously I think I really feel that many underestimated the steep climb It is to get into a new team, to be acclimated in the team and understand communication and all sorts of things,” he said.

Oscar Piastri finished second, just 6.889 seconds after Hamilton and before Max Verstappen.

George Russell, finished in fourth place for Mercedes, followed by Charles Leclerc from Ferrari in Fifth and Racing Bulls’ Yuki Tsunoda in sixth.

Lando Norris, who was the victory in the season’s first race in Australia, ended Saturday’s sprint in eighth position after losing three places in the beginning with a mistake in turn 6. Norris, who only earns one point for his efforts, said: “In the minute in the race, I only feel terrible.”
