Boston Red Sox on Saturday activated Liam Hendriks from the 15-day injured list and highlighted the right hand return to Majors for the first time in almost two years.
Hendriks, 36, suffered an elbow injury when he looked up for Chicago White Sox on June 9, 2023, which would ultimately require Tommy John operation. He made his fifth performance of that season after undergoing treatment for Stadium 4-Cick-Hodgkin lymphoma.
He reported to his first spring training with Red Sox but was on the side of inflammation in his right elbow.
Hendriks is a three-o’clock All-Star and American League Comeback Player of the Year 2023, a 33-34 record with 116 rescues and a 3.82 era in 476 career appearance (44 starts) with Minnesota Twins, Toronto Blue Jays, Kansas, and White Royals.
Right-hander Hunter Dobbins chose to Triple-A Worcester after Friday’s match against White Sox.
