Twice the WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart signed with New York Liberty on Saturday.
The terms of the deal were not announced by Liberty, but the New York Post reported that it was a year’s contract with $ 208,400 guaranteed.
Stewart, Stewart, was called MVP for the WNBA final on two occasions. A six times all-star, she has also been selected six times for all-WNBA first team.
“To bring Stewie back to Liberty was our highest priority this season,” said Liberty General Manager Jonathan Kolb. “Her impact on and outside the court is impossible – she is not only one of the best and most successful players in the world, but a leader whose relentless driving force is fundamental to the standard we continue to build on New York.”
Stewart, 30, was an average of 20.4 points and 8.5 returns in 38 matches (all starts) last season, which helped Liberty catch the Franchiset’s first WNBA title with a series victory over Minnesota Lynx in five matches.
She has contributed 20.8 points and 8.7 boards in 261 career games (all start) with Seattle Storm and New York.
Liberty begins his season on May 17 at home against Las Vegas Aces.
