Madrid Open Day 6 Recap

On April 28, 2025, a nationwide power outage over Spain and Portugal Madrid opened openly to stationary at Caja Mágica.

Blackout disturbed critical systems, including electronic line -up, scoreboards and over main cameras, which forced a suspension of the game.

After waiting almost four hours, the tournament organizers finally canceled the remaining day session matches and all night.

Only one match was completed on the men’s side: Matteo Arnaldi who defeated Damir Dzhumur 6-3, 6-4.

Grigor Dimitrov was the only second match that started, and after hitting a match point earlier in the second set of 5-2 (30-40), the Bulgarian LED led 6-4, 5-4 when a nationwide power outage struck.

Fearnley had just broken Dimitrov to get back on the service in the second set when the Chairman Judge Adel Nour sent both players from the track to wait for the delay. The game was then interrupted for the day, and the players did not come back.
