Martin Necas made twice in a three-point game and Cale Makar gathered a goal and one helped to take the visiting Colorado Avalanche to a 4-2 victory over Calgary Flames on Thursday.
Artturi Lehkonen also scored Avalanche while Nathan Mackinnon collected three assists to move back on top of the league’s point -scoring race with 83.
The Mackenzie Blackwood goal made 27 rescues for Colorado, which has won three out of four matches in total and has defeated the flames six straight times.
Jonathan Huberdeau and Rasmus Andersson scored for the flames, who have lost two straight and five out of seven. Dustin Wolf stopped 30 shots.
Huberdeau opened the point on Power Play when he found the brand with a score.
Spouses sent the avalanche and drove as he tied the game 80 seconds into the second period. He took advantage of a turnover to score his 20th goal of the season.
Lehkonen put Colorado forward at 5:34 by the frame when he shot home a loose puck to end a dominant pair of shifts in the Calgary zone.
Necas gave Avalanche a two-goal edge by diverting Mackinnon’s shot for the Power-Play goal by 17.8 seconds left in the second period. Colorado had an advantage of 17-4 shots during the period.
Neca extended the lead to 4-1 with an interruption figure at 12:53 of the third period. It mainly stifled Calgary’s comeback chances.
Andersson rounded off the point with a sharply angled shot from Rusan with 1:46 left.
