An all-you-can-eat option at one of Las Vegas Strips most budget-friendly hotel casino is to turn off the heat lamps for good.
The buffet at Luxor is closed at the end of the month, according to MGM Resorts International, the property’s parent company.
The last day of business for the buffet at Luxor is March 30.
MGM did not comment directly on the buffet closure. There are no further details about what will happen to it soon to become a space.
A spokesman for the Las Vegas-based gaming and hospitality giant said that the company is constantly evaluating properties to ensure that they not only meet consumers’ preferences but complies with larger market trends.
When Luxor’s buffet has stopped, there will be eight buffets in casinos on the strip. MGM-operated casinos are home to half of the remaining buffets on the strip.
Some casinos outside of strips-inclusive South Point, Rio and Palm-have also all-you-can-eat food options.
When they came out of the Covid-19-Pandemic, many casinos chose to eliminate buffets completely as issues of public health and changed consumer behaviors. Casino managers have long acknowledged that buffets are “loss leaders”, which cost more money to drive than they take in.
Luxor’s buffet is currently only open from $ 8 to $ 14 31.99 per adult ($ 26.99 for the locals) The price tag is among the lowest on the strip.
