Djokovic coasts past Carabelli

Novak Djokovic had another routine day in the office on Sunday with a 6-1, 7-6 (1) victory over Camilo Ugo Carabelli.
This was the Serbian 41th triumph at Masters 1000 level, and he competed through the first set in just 29 minutes against the lucky loser Carabelli.
A break in the third game in the second set seemed to seal it, but the Argentine fought back, leveled the set and forced a tiebreak.
Djokovic, however, knows one thing or two about these, and he called his game a hack and released only one point in a perfect switch, with an 80% profit frequency for the first serving.
Next up: Lorenzo Musetti, who fought past Felix Auger-Aliassime 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 to reach the fourth round for the second year.
After a two-hour, 26-minute slip, the world recorded 16 Italian its first top 20 victory since October and converted four of 14 break points against the Canadian.
I am honored to have another milestone, another record broken. There is always something on the line, pretty much every time I play, and of course it motivates me to do well at tournaments. I started really well, 6-1, very similar to the first match two days ago. Things were complicated in the other. I broke his serving, he returned my serving, and then we went a little toe to toe. I had some chances at 4-4 but I think it was fair to take the second set to a tie-break. Then, as two days ago, a perfect tie-break. Fantastic serving when I needed, and overall just happy to get through. Djokovic on his win.
Monfils Masters mouths

Gael Monfils continued his excellent start at 2025 and fought through a two-hour, 37-minute collision against Jaume Munar and won through 7-5, 5-7, 7-6 (1).
Munar came in after taking out the 7th seed Daniil Medvedev, and he looked ready to seal the upset when he served for the match at 6-5 in the decisive. But Monfils, ever showman, had other ideas. He broke back to love, ignited the audience and turned momentum.
From there, tiebreak was all monks; He lost only one point on his way to setting up a re-match with Sebastian Kva, which he lined 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4) in Indian Wells two weeks ago. Can he perform after so many hours on court this week?
I have played so many matches and I know it is not easy to close matches with a large atmosphere. If you win the first point that is the key. I was lucky enough to return down the line and get down to the net and I caught him. I knew right now, that point can be a gaming exchange and it was. The crowd is involved and then it is pure experience and pure joy on my part as well. Monfils on their winnings.
Other matches of notes

Sebastian Kora sent ninth seed Stefano’s Tsitsipas package in a 7-6 (4), 6-3 victory to register their best victory for a while after several injuries.
Tsitsipas, who had fought back from a set against Chun-Hsin Tseng in the previous round, entered the sunshine twice on the back of the Dubai title, but he has fought in North America.
The first set was a narrow deal, with Kora who abstained from a service offense before producing his precision in tiebreak, highlighted by a searing backhand down the line.
From there, the 24th seed found its rhythm and broke Tsitsipas twice in the second set to lead 4-0, and although he could not consolidate the second break, he kept from there.
Fifth Seeds Casper Ruud held its Miami campaign on the right track and overcame the 30th seed Alejandro Tabilo 6-4, 7-6 (4) in a match containing only a break.
Ruud, who fought past Miomir Kecmanovic in the previous round, began strong and broke Tablilo early in the first set with a series of streaming forehand winners.
The Chilean, who came from a hard-fighting victory over Corentin Moutet, fought back in the second set and forced a tiebreak with his Crafty Lefty game. But Ruud’s experience shone through, when he saved all three breaking points he met and closed the switch with a skilled volley.
The Norwegian, a Miami finalist in 2022, continues to meet Francisco Cerundolo, the man he beat in this year’s semi-finals after he defeated Tommy Paul. Cerundolo always plays well in Miami, and beating Tommy Paul 6-2, 7-6 (4) is impressive.
The Argentine dominated the first set and broke Paul twice with his heavy baseline game. The other was a break party, with both players who lost their serve three times before Cerundolo caught tiebreak.
Grigor Dimitrov surpassed Karen Khachanov in a 6-7 (3), 6-4, 7-5 marathon, and kept its hopes that another deep Miami is being alive.
The 14th seed, a 2024 finalist, dropped the first set in a tiebreak but turned the tide in the second and broke with a well-worked point.
The decision was a narrow deal until Dimitrov’s all-court’s versatility got him the break at 5-5; Dimitrov is now facing Brandon Nakashima.
