Djokovic is calculating crown
Novak Djokovic is back in the Miami Open semi-finals after leaving Sebastian Korta 6-3, 7-6 (4) in a quarter final that was postponed from Wednesday.
Djoker is chasing a record seventh Miami title, and based on his form this week and the draw is opened, it is difficult to invest in what is happening.
Serban has had a good serving week, a shot that he constantly adjusted over the years, and in the first set he only lost one point behind it.
Korta, which has been struggling in recent months due to several injuries, has a very smooth game. He found his rhythm in the second set, competed for a 3-0 lead and later served for the set at 5-3.
Djokovic, however, turned the set and became involved in a longer rally in his typical Lockdown mode and forced errors from the 24-year-old American.
Korta came within two points from the set 6-5 in the return but did not look at a breaking point. Tiebreak was a coin tag, but Djokovic’s serve went out again; A serving winner at 5/4 and an ace at 6/4 sealed his victory in 1 hour and 22 minutes.
I thought Korta played decent, and he can play Djokovic good as we saw in Adelaide a couple of years back, but Novak looks like he’s on assignment this week and has gained some confidence in his ground stretches.
Next up: 14th seed Grigor Dimitrov, Djokovic leads 12-1 in their H2h and benefits from the fact that Grigor looked like he was running on steams in his quarter final match.
As good as you can feel about his serving. Incredible to serve the entire tournament, I have earned really well. Especially today and I needed it because Sebastian in the second set just made me run and he played really well from the back of the court, may not have made as many mistakes as in the first set. It required some serving to get out of trouble. I was 0-3, 0/30 down, had some good serving and put myself in a position to [break back]Which I did. Tie-break could have been someone’s game, but serve got me out of trouble again. 5/4, serves winners. 6/4, ACE to end the match. I take it as a highlight from the match today. Djokovic on his victory over crumbs.

Highlights
Fritz fights past Berrettini

Taylor Fritz fought to a 7-5, 6-7 (7), 7-5 victory over Matteo Berrettini in a two-hour, 44-minute quarter final to reach its first Miami semi-final.
Fritz missed a number of opportunities in the second set after seeing 6 match points passed him, but he remained composed and got the job done.
Fritz looked ready for a straight victory and led 6/3 in the second set tiebreak. But Berrettini, who experienced, missed several match points in his victory over Alex de Minaur, refused to trap.
At a match point, Fritz missed a backhand return of only centimeters; On another, Berrettini leaned in and crushed a return from a service of 110 km / h.
The determination was a test of nerve. None of the players lost the service until 5-5, but at their third breaking point in the set, Fritz encountered a second service to capture a key break before he held from 15-30 to book his place in tomorrow’s semi-final.
It was tough. I tried to continue to tell myself that he played well and it is not so much on me, so try not to be frustrated. I think my best look where I had three match points that saw a second serving from him. I think I really have to win one of them. I can’t be too frustrated over 6/5 points, I honestly hit a really, really good serving and he leaned fully. If I should have gone 110 km / h wide, I would probably have aced him. He undertook hard for the return and he crushed it. I had to give it to him, he raised his level a lot. There are two options. Get frustrated, lose and then become even more frustrated by all the chances I blew, or regroup and get the profit. Now I can sleep tonight and not be so angry at the chance that I was blowing. I feel that is how I have always returned his serve. I feel that he has been served so much anyway, it is quite difficult to take a full time and beat it, even when you stand back. It also gives him time to run around and find the preview. I have always liked to stand in, make sure to chip these preview and hopefully it quickly comes to him, especially when I get a backhand, I feel that I can really crush it. Fritz on his win.

Mensik makes first champion semi -finals

Although he was the highest ranked teenager on the tour, Jakub Mensik has been flying under the radar with players like Fonseca who got all the Plauditer.
While the latter is probably on its way to Europe for the master, the 19-year-old Czech in the Miami semi-final after defeating Arthur Fils 7-6 (5), 6-1 in a 75-minute Beatdown.
Fils could count somewhat happily to be the last eight after Tiefoe somehow lost the third set even though Fils barely moved, and then Zverev’s powder puff came forward in their fourth round.
But the three settlers seemed to have emptied him, and he couldn’t call the heavy top spin shot as he can.
However, mensik was razor sharp and beat 26 winners, including 13 ESS, to dominate the Frenchman. The first set tested Mensik’s nerves. He sounded a lead of 4-1 and met at 5-5 at his serving, but the Czech stabilized himself and won six of the last eight points in tiebreak to arrest the control.
From there he was unstoppable and competed through the second set with a barrier of winners and unsurprising serving, when files shown.
It feels incredible. I think the biggest result so far in my career, so I’m glad I just continued since the first round. It is the key to staying focused during the two weeks, because it is always tough … The job is not done. Before each season I set my goals that I want to reach during the season. I have an incredible team. Everyone does a good job, which is always the key. After fantastic weeks, after worse weeks, we are still working so hard, and it pays off. Menican on his win.
