Tampa Bay Rays will play its schedule for the regular season at 2025 on the complex training and spring facility in the New York Yankees-after to have been left without a home Stadium. Hurricane Milton tore the roof from the Tropicana field in St. Petersburg, Florida, October 9 and left about $ 56 million in repairs that are expected to take at least the entire season in 2025 to complete.

The price for improvements on Steinbrenner Field for Rays does not include the non -revealed millions of dollars that Yankees paid to upgrade spring and educational facilities.

At the end of spring training, Yankees will turn the plant into the rays, which will take advantage of the changes that went on before the hurricane hit. These include added square images for weight rooms, training areas and restaurants, as well as areas for player use.

The hurricane started uncertainty about where the rays will play in the future. A planned stadium in St. Petersburg’s historic gas plant district now seems to be up in the air, and there is no guarantee that the city-owned Tropicana field will be ready for games in 2026.

“The industry is guilty (Yankee’s main owner) Hal Steinbrenner A real debt, lots of credit for the strategy he took,” Manfred said. “He literally set tens of millions of dollars to improve Steinbrenner field. The first people to use it for some time are Rays. That support for the industry, that collegiality is really an important thing.”

Yankees will make two trips this season to Tampa to play the rays in the ball park in 11,000 places, both times occupy the upgraded clubhouse for the visitors (April 17-20 and August 19-20).
