Nashville SC is on its way to the best start in franchise history, and they will look to continue the strong driving when they host FC Cincinnati on Saturday night.

The sixth -year franchise is looking for its fourth straight victory after opening with a draw and loss. Nashville (3-1-1, 10 points) has surpassed his opponents 8-1 under the winning line.

Last weekend, Nashville rolled into a 3-0 victory over visiting CF Montreal.

“This is a really good example of a large team gain,” said Nashville coach BJ Callaghan. “When we talk about team winning, the best start in club history begins, it’s really nice.

“I would say that this game embodies what we are trying to build and to earn the best start in club history in this way and with contributions from many guys all over the team is a really rewarding feeling for the group.”

The point has been balanced because midfielder Ahmed Qasem has two goals and six other players have one.

“We’re always talking about the next man, the next man,” said defender Josh Bauer. “It’s something we’re prepared for, and I think everyone has full confidence. The guys who come in felt definitely prepared.”

Nashville is one of four teams bound to second place in the eastern conference while FC Cincinnati (2-2-1, 7 points) is bound for the ninth.

Cincinnati is winless in the last two MLS matches, including 2-2 Home Draw against Atlanta United last weekend. The orange and Blue put in their own goal in the 88th minute to lose the victory.

Cincinnati has scored only six goals, and coach Pat Noonan is worried about the lack of points nearby.

“We’ve talked about it,” Noonan said. “I think, in some moments, try to force plays, when guys who want an impact in front of the goal has not been consistent. How we move the opponents’ back lines in the way we go to the finish, that was something we focused on after Atlanta.

“The eye tells you and we have to do a better job of finding ways to get closer to the goal and be more patience and not force games when the moment is not there.”

Midfielder Evander had both goals against Atlanta and leads Cincinnati with three.

Last season, Nashville played a victory 2-0 at Cincinnati on May 29, and the team played for a 2-2 tie at Nashville September 21.
