I went into my home one day, and the first thing I saw was his key on the carpet. That moment felt like a gut punch. Weeks later he sent me a letter. It was his only way to reach out since I had blocked him on everything else. “Right there in the garden, in a roasting, I saw it going up in flames. It wasn’t just catartic – it was symbolic. That fire was the beginning of my healing, my way of taking back control. “
“When I sat down to write the song with my co -author, Paul Visser, I knew I wanted to channel every unfiltered feeling from that moment. From the heartbeat to see his key on the floor, wake up every day and roll over to an empty bed, to the bitter -cute beauty of finding peace in the middle of the chaos. The song flowed from there … ”
