The best CEO of the company that runs Resorts in Primm said it became clear after the Covid-19-Pandemic that the area could no longer support three hotel casino.
That is why Affinity Interactive closed Whiskey Pete’s, on the western side of Interstate 15 at the Nevada-California limit in December, and has planned to focus on moving the property as a travel center for southern Californs traveling to Las Vegas in the future instead of a destination place.
Affinity also runs Buffalo Bill’s and Primm Valley on the eastern side of I-15.
Scott Butera, President and CEO of Affinity Interactive, sailed through a suitability and key personnel Licensing Hearing with unanimous approval by the Nevada Gaming Commission on Thursday. Nevada Gaming Control Board on February 12 recommended approval of Butera’s license request.
Butera, which has been in the gaming industry for 30 years and has been licensed several times, said that no decisions have been made for the PrimM properties.
“We are trying to find out what will be the best use of the property,” Butera told Commissioners in their license certificate. “It will be a pretty exciting transition.”
He said it may include additional retail components to support amenities that already exist 1,200 slot machines between the two open casinos, the 6,500-seat star in the deserts that host a variety of entertainment with heavy emphasis on Latin documents, a roller coaster, Despado, which was once the highest in the world and the 50,000 vehicles as the driven.
Butera said that PrimM extends over California-Nevada State Line, a convenience store on California’s side of the line, flourishes business for lottery ticket sales when the jackpot is floating.
Butera said that a shopping center near the resorts is run by the Primm family.
Affinity officials have a date with Clark County Commission Tuesday to apply for an exception for companies and liquor licenses for up to three years. County commissioners will consider a license for a closure for 24 months with the possibility of two six months extensions.
Primm’s long -term future can also be affected by the southern Nevada additional airport, which is expected to be built between Jean and PrimM and open in 2037.
In other activities on Thursday, the Commission unanimously approved a changed registration order for Betmgm, 50-50 partnerships between MGM Resorts International and Enture PLC for sports games, to take over the operation of nine Strip sports books as a non-limited license holder.
The approval does not affect customer usage procedures at the sports books run at Mandalay Bay, Aria, Bellagio, Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Excalibur, Luxor, MGM Grand, New York-New and Park MGM from a hub in Mandalay Bay with Entain technology.
