After an evenly played the first seven holes, New York won the eighth hole when Schauffele hit a Birdie putt from 4 feet set up by Cameron Young’s approach. He continued to defeat Lagc’s Collin Morikawa at PAR-5 10 and PAR-4 13th, while Rickie Fowler beat Tommy Fleetwood in England for another New York point at PAR-4 11.

In both single holes that Schauffele won, he “threw the” Hammaren “in the middle of the hole to double the hole’s point value-later when he hit his attitude at the 13th 30 foot closer to the pin than Morikawa did. In both cases, Lagc Hammaren declined and admitted a single point.

New York was the last team that screamed into the league’s first playoffs.

“I think you are looking at how we started, you know, it was a bad start,” Schauffele said. “I looked away from home (because of injury). The boys started to gather. (England’s Matt Fitzgerald) were with us today … I think we are all quite happy. We thought it was possible, but we knew it would be a long way. We are definitely happy to be here.”

Fleetwood had a chance to win the 14th hole against Fowler and keep Lagc alive, but his 5-foot feet to win.

It was LAGC’s first time to lose in regulation throughout the year. Its only loss of the regular season came in overtime.

“I think we played really nicely and we had our chances,” said Lagcs Sahith Theegala, “but only one or two puts that could very easily have gone in just lipped out for us, and that was a kind of decisive factor.”
