New York Jets to Aaron Rodgers: Ditch Pat McAfee or hits the road

At this point, you probably heard the news that Aaron Rodger’s unlikely will return to the New York Jets next season.

What you may not have heard is that the new head coach Aaron Glenn told Rodgers that if he wanted to play for Gang Green, he would have to ditch his popular, weekly look on ESPN’s Pat McAfee show.

According to Athletic’s Diana Russini on his “Scoop City” podcast, Jets previously told Rodgers that, if he returns, he must ditch the weekly look with McAfee. They also informed him that he was obliged to participate in all activities outside the season – no more Ayahuasca retreats.

So Jets really went on and pulled a line in the sand with Rodgers. Outside a few cases about pressing questions, his performances at McAfee were the most innocent interviews about other sports or pop culture subjects.

Like jets, why would you do this? They have chips – and it was already general knowledge that Rodgers would not be back next season. There is no point in demanding a ban on McAfee’s show for a player who will test free agency within the next few months.

According to Mike Florio, according to the current collective bargaining agreement, law has no right to limit a player’s media activities. As you probably know, they cannot force him to participate in the voluntary part of organized team activities.

Rodgers has been quiet about this whole situation. He participated in most of last season’s voluntary activities outside the season but caused a little storm when he missed a mandatory part of the camp to participate in a trip to Egypt.

While Rodgers has been transformed into a little heel in court for public opinion, let’s not pretend he is not a very good quarterback. At the age of 40, Rodgers threw 3,897 meters, 28 touchdowns and only 11 eavesdropping while completing 63 percent of his passports.

Jets is a dumpster fire. He was injured in the first season after only four snaps. But let’s not pretend he didn’t bounce extremely well.

And as a free agent, he will be interested. This quarterback draft class is not so high on. Some testimonies have said that neither Sherers Sanders nor Cam Ward would have been the first round last year.

Three Quarterback-Nedy team headlines top of this year’s draft. At least Rodgers would be an upgrade for Las Vegas Raiders, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans in this year’s top 10. Not to speak, Jets will need another quarterback.

It is unclear which of these teams will actually be interested in Rodgers. For some organizations, it may be smarter to embrace the rebuild and take an airplane on a rookie quarterback instead of the future first Bollot Hall of Famer in Rodgers.

He will be able to find a team to stomach his weekly performances at McAfee and Weird Presease Sacations.
