Alex Ovechkin captured Wayne Gretzky for the NHL Disc for NHL goals on Friday, with its two-goal performance, which also lifted the Washington Capitals host to a 5-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.

The couple gives Capitals Captain 894 goals and matches Gretzky’s brand. A capacity group, including Gretzky and NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, was at hand. Dylan Strome made and helped with Ovechkin’s first goal. Martin Fehervary also scored Washington, and Ryan Leonard noted his first career goal. Carlson tied his season high with three assists. Charlie Lindgren stopped 19 shots when Washington won for the second time in three matches.

Frank Nazar finished with a goal and an assist for the Blackhawks. Philipp Kurashev and Tyler Bertuzzi also scored. Oliver Moore got his first NHL points with a couple of assists, and Landon Slaggert also published two. Knight made 25 rescues but could not hinder Chicago from his fifth straight defeat.

Red Wings 5, Hurricanes 3

Alex Debrincat had a goal and an assist to lead Detroit to a victory to visit Carolina.

Ben Chiarot, Marco Kasper, Patrick Kane and Michael Rasmussen also did for Detroit. Dylan Larkin logged two assists, and Cam Talbot made 30 rescues.
