NHL Roundup: Dylan Samberg’s OT goal lifts Jets past the Kraken

Dylan Samberg had a goal and an assist and made the winner of 1:47 of overtime, when Winnipeg Jets gathered to defeat the value Seattle Kraken 3-2 Sunday evening to regain first place in the NHL’s overall position.

Cole Perfetti also had a goal and an assist, Kyle Connor counted and Vladislav Namestnikov had two assists for Jets, who won his third in a row and broke a tie with Washington in the president’s trophy that goes to the team with the best regular season record.

Jets Backup goalkeeper Eric Comrie started to give Connor Hellebuyck an evening free. But Hellebuyck was forced into action only 3:15 into the game after Comrie was involved in a collision and was left to be checked for a concussion. Comrie returned with a pure health proposal 10:10 later, after Hellebuyck allowed the game’s opening goal. Comrie went on to stop 14 of the 15 shots he met and Hellebuyck was credited with five rescues on six shots.

Jani Nyman and Mikey Eyssimont made for the Kraken, who went 2-0-1 on their three-game home tooth. Netminder Joey Daccord made 23 rescues in the loss.

Islanders 4, Panthers 2

Marc Gatcomb, Maxim Tsyplakov and Noah Dobson did in a period of a little more than six minutes during the third period for New York, which stormed back from a 2-0 deficit to beat Florida in Elmont, NY

Gatcomb started the comeback by gathering its own rebound and scoreing on a cover at the 6:29 mark of the third. The New York Band game with 8:44 left when Mike Reilly sent a clearing pass through the neutral zone to a streaky Tsyplakov, who pushed a shot through Vitek Vanecec’s legs to face the outbreak.

Sam Reinhart did a minute in the second period and Aleksander Barkov doubled the lead at the mark 4:48 for Panthers, who lost for the second time in as many nights and for the third time in four matches (1-3-0).

Red Wings 3, Golden Knights 0

Petr Mrazek, who made his third start since he was acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks, made 18 rescues for his first suspension of the season and host Detroit Tomma Vegas.

The rookie defender Albert Johansson scored his second career goal. Lucas Raymond and Marco Kasper also scored Red Wings, who had lost seven of their previous eight matches.

Ilya Samsonov made 24 rescues for Golden Knights, which has lost four of their last five matches. They finished a four-match road trip with 1-1-2 brand. Vegas gave up a band goal with 14 seconds left and lost a shootout at Buffalo on Saturday afternoon.

Avalanche 4, Stars 3 (OT)

Cale Makar did 34 seconds in overtime and Colorado recovered to beat Dallas after blown a two -goal lead late in the third period in Denver.

Valeri Nichushkin and Jonathan Drouin each had a goal and one assist, Martin Necas also did, spouses had added two assists and Scott Wedgewood made 19 rescues for Avalanche. Colorado extended its points streak to nine matches (8-0-1) and moved within two points from the stars for second place in the Central Division.

Jason Robertson, Mavrik Bourque and Matt Duchene scored and Jake Oettinger made 32 rescues for Dallas, who have lost three out of four since the trade deadline on March 7 (1-2-1).

Oilers 3, Rangers 1

Viktor Arvidsson scored the tiebreaking goal early in the third period, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins helped with each Edmonton goal when the visiting Oilers beat New York.

Leon Draisaitl extended his career high score streak to 18 matches with an assist at Corey Perry’s first period goal. Stuart Skinner (21 rescues) was a stout for Oilers, who also killed all three Rangers Power plays. Edmonton superstar Connor McDavid made his first shot at night with 3:25 left in the match to expand his score to 11 matches.

Will Cualle did for Rangers, who failed to register a third victory in a row. New York, which is fighting for the last Wild Card place in the eastern conference, has now earned a point in its last three home competitions.

Blues 7, Ducks 2

Dylan Holloway and the Jake neighbors each had a goal and an assist when St. Louis rolled by visiting Anaheim.

Blues won their 10th straight match against Ducks and improved to 9-2-2 in total in their last 13 games. Brayden Schen, Pavel Buchnevich, Radek Faksa, Mathieu Joseph and Oskar Sundqvist also did for St. Louis. Jordan Kyrou received three assists and Justin Faulk had two.

Cutter Gauthier had a goal and an assist, Nikita Nesterenko scored and Mason Mctavish received two assists for the ducks, which lost for the fifth time in seven games. Lukas Dostal allowed five goals on 14 shots for two periods for Anaheim before Hustso wanted to replace him.

Utah Hockey Club 3, Canucks 1

Logan Cooley’s goal 5:08 into the third period broke the tie and Utah came from behind to defeat the host Vancouver.

Kevin Stenlund and Clayton Keller also scored for Utah, who had lost four of the last six and struggles to remain in the playoffs. Vancouver and St. Louis Blues is bound on points for the final Western Conference Wild card site, and Utah moved to two points back. Nick Schmaltz had two assists and Karel Vejmelka stopped 18 shots for Utah.

Defender Quinn Hughes gave the goal of Canucks, who had won their last two. Kevin Lankinen made 20 rescues.
