Corey Perry finished with a goal and an assist to help lead Edmonton Oilers to a 4-1 victory on Sunday over first place Winnipeg Jets, who despite the loss secured his first president’s trophy in franchise history.
Jets were persecuted for the best overall league record by Washington Capitals, which received a 4-1 loss for Columbus Blue Jackets earlier in the day.
Connor Brown, Adam Henrique and Viktor Arvidsson also scored for the injured tormented Oilers, while Stuart Skinner counted 17 rescues. Connor McDavid brought his season -long points a total of up to 99 with a couple of assists.
Alex Iafallo scored Jets’ lonely goals and Eric Comrie stopped 35 shots in a rare start.
Blue jackets 4, capitals 1
Adam Fantilli did twice and Jet Greaves came up big again to visit Columbus, which kept his playoffs hope by stimulating a comeback victory over Washington.
Zach Werenski and Dmitri Voronkov also scored for Blue Jackets, which has won four straight. Ivan Provorov, Sean Monahan, Kent Johnson and James van Riemsdyk played assists. Greaves made 29 rescues to serve his third straight victory since he was recalled from AHL -connected Cleveland on Thursday. Blue Jackets are three points behind the Montreal Canadiens for the Eastern Conference’s final wild-card site. Both teams have two matches left.
For the capitals, Alex Ovechkin made for the first time since Breaking Wayne Gretzky’s goal record for all the time last Sunday. Charlie Lindgren finished with 19 rescues.
Islands 1, devils 0
Ilya Sorokin published a suspension in her return from injury to visit New York, which edged New Jersey in Newark.
Sorokin, who missed the two previous games with a lower bodily injury, made 25 rescues as surprise starts for the islanders. which was eliminated from the playoffs on Saturday. With 22 endings, Sorokin is bound with the Hall of Famer Billy Smith for the second most in the history of the Islander behind Chico Resch (25).
Bo Horvat scored the only goal late in the second period, while Jacob Markstrom recorded 21 rescues for the playoffs-bound devils, who have lost three straight, all in regulation. New Jersey will play Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference the Quarter Final.
Bruins 4, Penguins 1
Elias Lindholm had a goal and an assist and Boston hosted Pittsburgh.
Fabian Lysell, Morgan Geekie and Jakub Lauko also scored for Bruins, who had lost two of their previous three. David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha each had two assists and Joonas Korpisalo made 23 rescues. Pastrnak stretched his score to nine matches (eight goals, 12 assists).
Rickard Rakell provided the crime for Penguins, who had won two straight. Tristan Jarry stopped 28 shots.
Senators 4, Flyers 3 (OT)
Tim Stutzle’s second goal in the game came with 3:20 left in overtime, and Ottawa remained warm with a victory to visit Philadelphia.
After bound things twice on the third period goals from Fabian Zetterlund and Thomas Chabot, the Senators got a 4-on-3 power play in overtime. And Stutzle came through after a perfect seam pass from Drake Batherson to beat the Flyers goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov (21 rescues). Chabot also had two assists and Stutzle added one for the playoffs Ottawa, who won his fifth straight at home. The senators have been 15-5-1 since the beginning of March and 21-6-1 at home since November 25.
The Hathaway yarn had a goal with the help of Philadelphia, which will miss the playoffs for a fifth straight season, but is 5-1-1 during interim coach Brad Shaw.

Flames 5, sharks 2
Yegor Sharangovich broke a third period-slip in a two-goal game while Adam Klapka gathered a goal and an assist that host Calgary held his playoffs jump with a victory over San Jose.
Mackenzie Weegar and Matt Coronato also scored the flames. Jonathan Huberdeau collected two assists. Goalkeeper Dustin Wolf made 28 rescues and has beaten the sharks in seven of their eight career games against them. The flames are two points back by St. Louis Blues for the Western Conference’s second wild-card position and three behind the Minnesota Wild.
Tyler Toffoli netted a goal and an assist, and Jan Rutta counted the second goal for the sharks, which sits last in the league and has dropped nine games in a row. Goalkeeper Georgi Romanov stopped 25 shots.
Avalanche 4, Ducks 2
Wyatt Aamodt’s first NHL goal triggered a four-goal for a third period and visited Colorado gathered to beat Anaheim.
Charlie Coyle had one goal and two assists, Jack Drury had one of each and Erik Johnson also scored Avalanche, who sat several of his top players in their last match in the regular season. Scott Wedgewood had 18 rescues for Colorado, which used an AHL-heavy range.
Mason Mctavish and Sam Colangelo had goals and Lukas Dostal turned 20 shots for the ducks.
