Leon Draisaitl’s second goal at night-his 51st of the season-in a three-point game was the overtime winner to give the host Edmonton Oilers a 3-2 comeback victory over Calgary Flames on Saturday.
Viktor Arvidsson also scored for Oilers, who snapped a two-game skid. The goal Calvin Pickard made 26 rescues for Edmonton, who is even with Los Angeles Kings in points for second place in the Pacific Division but has played another game.
Draisaitl, the first NHL player who scored 50 goals this season, returned after missing four matches due to injury, but Edmonton was without colleague Superstar Connor McDavid for a fourth in a row. No. 1 goalkeeper Stuart Skinner and defender Mattias Ekholm are also out.
Yegor Sharangovich and Brayden Pachal scored each goal, where Pachal also gathered an assist for Flames. Calgary is seven points outside a playoffs but has three matches in his hand at St. Louis Blues, which holds the Western Conference’s second wild-card site. Goalkeeper Dustin Wolf stopped 26 shots.
Stars 5, the Crake 1
Mikko Rantanen had one goal and two assists, while Jason Robertson added one of each when Dallas dressed a place in the Stanley Cup final game by hitting worth Seattle.
The Rantanen scored a plot-net goal to earn his first three-point game since he arrived at Dallas at the trading deadline, it was his fourth straight match with one point, and Robertson noted his third in a row in several points. Roope Hintz had a goal and an assist, while Mason Marchment and Wyatt Johnston also scored. Jake Oettinger stopped 35 shots.
Eeli Tolvanen made by assists from Jared McCann and Andre Burakovsky, but it was far from enough that Seattle lost for the fourth time in five matches. Joey Daccord finished with 16 rescues.
Golden Knights 3, Predators 1
Reilly Smith broke a third period Deadlock and Vegas ran their winning line to six matches with a road victory over Nashville.
Jack Eichel and Brett Howden also scored for the Pacific Areas that lead Golden Knights, which only have two defeat for regulation time in 15 matches (11-2-2). Goalkeeper Adin Hill made 23 rescues in a solid goal struggle that covered his team’s perfect three-game road trip.
Ryan O’reilly accounted for predators, which have only two wins in nine excursions. Goalkeeper Justus Annunen stopped 26 shots for Nashville, who has been eliminated from the playoffs in the Stanley Cup.
Rangers 6, sharks 1
Artemi Panarin and Adam Fox scored two goals per piece to visit New York, which moved into the second eastern Wild-Card site by directing San Jose.
Jonny Brodzinski and Vincent Trocheck also scored for Rangers, who won for only the second time in seven matches (2-4-1). Goalkeeper Jonathan Quick wore a shutdown deep into the third and ended with 21 rescues.
Cam Lund scored his first NHL goal in his second match with 2:14 left for the league-worst sharks, who had their two-game winning row snapped. Alexander Georgiev, who opened his career by spending five seasons with Rangers, recorded 27 rescues.
Lightning 5, Islanders 3
Nikita Kucherov registered a goal and three assists when Tampa Bay rode a three-goal in the first period on the way to a sweep of their three-game home in a victory against New York.
Kucherov, Nick Perbix and Brayden point all goals for the first period for the lightning strike. Point added to his team high 38th speech during the second period outside a pass from Kucherov, whose three points gave him 11 on the red hot home country and 109 in total. Backup Jonas Johansson started since March 13 and stopped 35 shots.
When they dropped their fourth straight (0-2-2), the islanders injured their wild card gaming chances and sit back by the New York Rangers, which has the second Wild-Card place. Ryan Pulock, Marc Gatcomb and Tony Deangelo did each, while goalkeeper Ilya Sorokin made 19 rescues.
Blues 2, Avalanche 1
Pavel Buchnevich made a tiebreaking goal halfway through the third period and grew St. Louis beat Colorado in Denver.
Zack Bolduc also did, Robert Thomas had two assists and Jordan Binnington turned away 28 shots for St. Louis, who has won nine in a row – the longest current line in the NHL.
Nathan Mackinnon had a goal and Mackenzie Blackwood had 25 rescues for Colorado, who had his winning line on 11 games. Mackinnon’s goal expanded his home strength to 24 matches.
Maple Leafs 3, Kings 1
John Tavare’s first of two goals from the third period broke the tie and Toronto gathered with three goals during the period for a victory over host Los Angeles.
Auston Matthews had a goal and an assist for Maple Leafs, who won for the second time in four matches (2-1-1). Anthony Stolarz stopped 35 shots.
Alex Laferriere scored for Kings, who lost his second straight. Darcy Kuemper made 23 rescues.
Devils 5, Wild 2
Nico Hischier made a hat trick to lift New Jersey into a victory over Minnesota in Saint Paul, Minn.
Paul Cotter and Tomas Tatar also scored for New Jersey, who bounced back from a loss of shutdown one night earlier. Jesper Bratt had two assists. Devil’s goalkeeper Jacob Markstrom turned aside 22 out of 24 shots to win the victory.
Marcus Foligno had a goal and an assist for Minnesota. Ryan Hartman also scored a goal. Wild goalkeeper Filip Gustavsson allowed five goals on 33 shots.
Senators 3, Blue Jackets 2
Jake Sanderson made the possible game winner when Ottawa topped to visit Columbus to win for the ninth time in his last 12 matches (9-3-0).
Ridly made Greig and added an assist, and Drake Batherson also counted for the senators. Linus Ullmark made 29 rescues, and Shane Pinto added a couple of helpers when the senators moved to 21-10-2 at Hemis this season.
Boone Jenner and Kirill Marchenko accounted for Columbus, while Zach Werenski added a couple of assists. Daniil Tarasov stopped 24 shots for Blue Jackets, which won only three of his last 12 matches (3-8-1).
Flyers 7, Sabers 4
Ryan Poehling had two goals and one assist and Matvei Michkov also had two goals to help Philadelphia beat Buffalo.
Noah Cates had one goal and two assists, Tyson Foerster had one goal and one assist, Jakob Pelletier scored a goal while Owen Tippett, Bobby Brink and Travis Konecny had two assists for Flyers, who won their first two matches during interim trainer Brad Shaw. Samuel Ersson made 17 rescues for Philadelphia.
Jack Quinn had two goals and one assist, JJ Peterka had one goal and one assist, Alex Tuch had one goal and Ryan McLeod had three assists for Buffalo. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 25 rescues for the sabers.
Red Wings 2, Bruins 1
Marco Kasper scored an unassisted goal during the first period and Lucas Raymond scored in the second when the host Detroit went down Boston.
Cam Talbot made 20 rescues when Red Wings won for only the fourth time in its last 15 games.
Morgan Geekie scored the Boston goal and Jeremy Swayman stopped 20 shots. Bruins have lost eight straight and 16 of its last 19. It is the longest picture for Boston since the 2009-10 season.
