Dylan Larkin provided the lonely goal for the red wings. Six straight losses have driven Detroit outside the playoff image in the Eastern Conference. Cam Talbot stopped 21 shots in the defeat.

Tage Thompson did twice as much as Buffalo finished his six-game losing line with a victory over visiting Edmonton.
Alex Tuch also spoke for Buffalo, and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 32 saves in the victory that snapped a 0-5-1 skid.
Evan Bouchard and Darnell nurse scored for Oilers, both of Assists from Leon Draisaitl, who extended their points streak to a career best 15 matches. Stuart Skinner stopped 20 shots. Edmonton had won three of his four previous matches.

Michael Carcone, Nick Schmaltz and Barrett Hayton accounted for Utah, who has dropped back-to-back games, both of which went beyond the regulation. Karel Vejmelka stopped 23 shots in the loss.
