NHL sets attendance records, exceeds 23 million fans

More than 23 million fans participated in an NHL season game 2024-25, the highest sum in the league’s 108-year history.

Ligaen announced Friday that a total of 23,014,458 people participated in a game during the season of 1,312 games. The previous record of 22,873 142 is darkened, which was set last season.

In addition to the 32 teams’ home arenas, the NHL also played Winter Classic at Wrigley Field in Chicago, a Stadium series game at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, and Global Series games in Prague, the Czech Republic and Tampere, Finland. A total of 94,571 fans participated in the match at Ohio Stadium and marked the second largest collection in NHL history.

Montreal Canadiens, which is run by 41 sales at the Bell Center, led all clubs in total presence with 865,305 fans.
