Kam Jones got 14 points and Chase Ross added 11, which fuel no. 16 Marquette for a convincing 80-56 victory about visiting Seton Hall on Tuesday evening in Milwaukee.

Jones joined Ross with five assists and added four returns to fluster the pirates for the second time this season. Jones received 19 points on 7-of-11-shooting from the floor of the Golden Eagles ’76 -59 victory on January 21 in Newark, NJ

Ben Gold scored all ten points in the second half for Marquette (20-6, 11-4 Big East), who shot a robust 53.6 percent from the floor and 40.7 percent from 3-point interval to improve to 13-2 at Home this season.

Golden Eagles enjoyed a 40-24 edge in returns on the way to record their second victory in a row after a three-game skid.

Isaiah Coleman made only 5 of 19 shots from the floor to finish with a team high 13 points for the Pirates (7-19, 2-13).

The rest of his Seton Hall teammates didn’t go much better. The team made only 4 out of 16 shots from 3-point intervals to fall to 1-10 in the last 11 matches in total and 0-9 on the road this season.

Wisconsin native Gus Yalden fell a couple of free throw when Seton Hall reduced the deficit to four points at 17-13 before Marquette ignited a 22-6 driving. Royce Parham, Ross, Jones and Damarius Owens each made a 3-point during that stretch before Jones covered the drive with a spinning sweater in the lane.

The Golden Eagles kept the pressure after interruption.

They received 24 of the first 34 points in the second half to extend their lead to 31 points at 64-33. Gold made a couple of 3-pointer and a layout under that wave before Stevie Mitchell’s tips covered the run with 10:16 to play.

Marquette put it on cruise control from there.
