Orlando City SC signed the Croatian wing Marco Pasalic as an appointed player on Wednesday.
Acquired from Croatia’s HNK Rijeka, the 24-year-old will arrive at a three-year contract with an alternative for 2028.
Pasalic contributed 16 goals and nine assists in 68 matches with Rijeka from 2023-25.
“This is an exciting signing for us and we are pleased that Marco will join us here in Orlando,” said Orlando City EVP about football operations and general manager Luiz Muzzi. “His desire to take on defenders and ability to be a constant threat in goal is exactly what we have been looking for during this transfer window.
“He has a great personality and competitive driving force that we really fit the culture we have built here in Orlando City and in addition he has a constant desire to win that is contagious. We are happy to have him to carry purple and look forward to everything He will achieve when he represents our club. ”
Internationally, Pasalic has been covered five times by Croatia and competed with the UEFA Euro 2024 squad.
“I think it was an easy alternative for me to decide. I want to come here to take the next step here in Orlando and come here to show what I can do,” he said. “I play with heart and I am a fighter in the field, my left foot is my weapon, as is my dribling, and I hope to show this.”
Orlando City will open the regular season 2025 MLS at home against Philadelphia Union on February 22.
