Palms Las Vegas Casino changes Blackjack Payment to benefit players | Casinos and games

A casino outside the strip has made a player-friendly change in its blackjack games and bucks a year-long gaming industry trend against rules with a larger house edge.

Palms Casino-Hotel now pays 3: 2 on all blackjack tables. The rule change applies to all blackjack tables on the main casino floor and in the areas with a high limit.

Before he completed the new payment, Palms contained a mix of blackjack tables that paid out either 3: 2 or 6: 5, whose later became a more common payment for casinos on the Las Vegas strip.

The property -wide change at Palms came into force on Valentine’s Day.

“We are committed to delivering the best gaming experience for our guests, especially our local players,” said Scott Hager, Vice President of Palms Games. “Improve and expand our Blackjack offers reflect our commitment to provide top games and ensure an exceptional experience for everyone who goes through our doors.”

In a 3: 2 game, one player wins for each $ 2 bet when he shared Blackjack (two cards at a total of 21), as opposed to $ 6 for every $ 5 in a 6: 5 game.

The difference can be significant for both Blackjack players and casino. On a $ 10 bet pays Blackjack $ 15 on a 3: 2 table. Same $ 10 bet wins $ 12 in a 6: 5 game.

Many casino operators printed the envelope after the pandemic when it comes to raising table minimum and introducing games with a significantly improved house edge, such as triple-zero roulette and 6: 5 blackjack.

John Mehaffey, co -owner of vegasadvantage.com and a player advocate, found that the competitiveness of the gaming industry means that casino operators must constantly adapt to market changes and consumer behaviors.

“We have seen several improvements,” said Mehaffey about casinos that seem to withdraw something when it comes to change after covid on the game floor. “(Men) I think there is some kind of pushback (from customers) where casinos found the price point where there was pain. And maybe they go back in value, because they realized we can’t earn $ 5 but maybe if we get $ 5 players here, we can get them up to 10 to $ 15 players, and that’s better than to have no one in here. “

Palms says it will not increase the minimum of the table play as a result of the new 3: 2 Blackjack policy. Palms offers $ 5 Blackjack and $ 5 Craps 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Palms is owned and operated by San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, who bought the property from Stationskasinon 2021 for $ 650 million.
