Panthers acquires f Nico sturm from sharks

Florida Panthers acquired Forward Nico Sturm and a seventh round of the 2027 NHL draft from San Jose Sharks on Thursday in exchange for a fourth round of selection of the 2026 draft.

The law ended a trade for the second time in the same number of days. Florida added goalkeeper Vitek Vanecek from San Jose on Wednesday in exchange for forward Patrick Giles.

Panthers acquires Sturm in the wake of placing the star forward Matthew Tkachuk on long -term injured reserve on Sunday due to a groin injury.

Sturm, 29, has 13 points (seven goals, six assists) in 47 matches with the sharks this season.

Sturm, a Stanley Cup champion with Colorado, has 91 points (46 goals, 45 assists) in 316 Career Regulatory season games with Minnesota Wild (2018-22), Avalanche (2022) and Hajar (2023-25).
