Parivision and Team Spirit swept their matches on Monday to be the first two teams that advanced from the group step in PGL Wallachia Season 4 event in Bucharest, Romania.
In a couple of matches that made 2-0 teams against each other, Parivision defeated Team Falcons 2-0 and Team Spirit did the same as Aurora Gaming. Now with three groups of group steps, these teams will compete in the playoffs.
The DOTA tournament of $ 1 million has 16 teams in a modified Swiss group phase format and double-elimination the playoffs until April 27.
All matches in the group step from Saturday to Wednesday are the best of three. The eight best teams move on to the playoffs, and the lower eight are eliminated. Playoffs is Thursday to Sunday, with all matches best-of-three except for the big finals, which is the best out of five.
On Monday, Parivision needed only 24 minutes and 34 minutes to beat Team Falcons and play both maps on Green. Team Spirit topped Aurora in 46 minutes on green and 40 minutes on red.
The two 0-2 matches also determined the first two teams to be eliminated from the tournament. Navi Junior swept Talon Esports (34 minutes on green, 37 minutes on red) and heroic gathered past the Avulus-released a 54-minute match on Red before winning in 53 and 52 minutes at Green. Talon and Avulus went 0-3 in the group step and do not move on.
In the four 1-1 matches, the Betboom team dropped Edge 2-0; Team Tidebound defeated Nigma Galaxy 2-0; Team Liquid came back to beat Xtreme Gaming 2-1; and Tundra Esports Linced Shopify Rebellion 2-1. The four winning teams will continue to the round of 4 2-1 matches, and the four losers will face elimination in the round of 4 1-2 matches.
