Patriots sign qb josh dobbs

Brown’s quarterback Josh Dobbs warms up before playing Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday 9 October 2022 in Cleveland.

New England Patriots officially has its new backup -quarterback and signs traveling Joshua Dobbs on Tuesday.

The team did not reveal conditions, but it was originally reported last week to be a two-year, $ 8 million contract with $ 3.8 million completely guaranteed, per NFL network.

Dobbs will back up Drake Maye in New England after Jacoby Brissett went to Arizona Cardinals earlier this month.

Dobbs, 30, spent last season with San Francisco 49ers. He took over late in their week 17 match against Detroit Lions when Brock Purdy left an injury and started in week 18 against Arizona Cardinals. He went a combined 32-for-47 for 361 meters, two touchdowns and two interceptions plus two rushing touchdowns in these performances.

Stints as a backup for Pittsburgh (2018, 2020) and Tennessee (2022) led him to use some unlikely opportunities in 2023.

Arizona Cardinals acquired him from Cleveland Browns just before the season to be their start while Cools Murray continued to rehabilitate from an ACL year. After eight starts, he was traded to Minnesota Vikings and made four starts for them after a seasonal Achilles injury to Kirk Cousins.

In 23 career appearance (3-12 records in 15 starts), Dobbs has completed 62.7 percent of their passports of 3,281 meters, 17 TDs and 15 interceptions. He has added 520 rushing turns and eight touchdowns on the ground.
