Tampa Bay Rays, which aims at a series gain in the Interleague game, will look to make things worse for the visitors Atlanta Braves on Saturday afternoon.

Tampa Bay Catcher Danny Jansen-who entered Friday’s series opener 1-for-26 (.038) at Plattan-counted three hits (including one two-Run Homer) and four RBI when Ray’s published a 6-3 victory over the struggling Braves.

The rays had dropped six out of seven who entered the weekend set, but they hope that Jansens Big Night will create momentum on Saturday.

“We had all the confidence in the world that Danny would get started, and it felt like tonight he started it,” said Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash. “And defensively he blocks the ball as well as all the guy that I have seen in a 12-, 13-game period. He wants what is best for the jugs and that they go out and have success.”

After last year’s mid -season trading sent him from Toronto to Boston, Jansen signed a one -year contract of $ 8.5 million with Rays in December.

Rays left Fielder Christopher Morel also recorded three hits, including a Homer, on Friday when Tampa Bay reached the six-run brand for the first time since a 7-0 victory over Pittsburgh Pirates on April 1.

Drew Rasmussen (1-0, 0.90 era) will look to continue its fresh start to Haugen for the rays on Saturday. The right-hander closed Pittsburgh Pirates over five rounds in a 6-1 victory on March 31 before allowing only one earned run over five frames in a decision without Texas Rangers last Sunday. The pipers lost 4-3.

Rasmussen, 29, will meet Braves for the third time in his career, but first as a starter. He allowed a earned drive over two excursions as a relief 2021 towards Atlanta.

Braves saw their disappointing start to the season continue on Friday when they lost their 10th match in 13 attempts. Starter Bryce Elder allowed five runs over six rounds, and a couple of eighth inning solo homers from Marcell Ozuna and Ozzie Albies were not enough for Atlanta, which could not be based on a series gain over Philadelphia Phillies.

AJ Smith-Shawver (0-2, 5.19 era) starts on Saturday for Atlanta, which makes its third look in the season. Smith-Shawver allowed three runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 rounds in their latest excursion, a 4-0 loss to Miami Marlin’s last Saturday.

When Atlanta handles the loss of Starter Reynaldo Lopez, who recently underwent surgery on its right shoulder and is waiting for Spencer battles to return, the club will need quality excursions from Smith -Shawver – which have been handed over six walks in 8 2/3 rounds.

“He learns. He will learn every time out,” said Braves manager Brian Snitker about Smith-Shawver. “It’s hard to do it at the large league level. I know we’re in a big swing-and-miss type of industry right now, but you still have a better ball better if you are going to do it as a starting jug.”

Saturday will highlight the 22-year-old right-handed career start against Tampa Bay.
