New York Red Bulls will look like to continue its long -standing dominance over Toronto FC on Saturday night in Harrison, NJ

New York is 8-0-3 in the last 11 matches in the regular season against Toronto, from the 2019 season. Red Bulls is always 17-2-2 in home games against the Canadian side.

Red Bulls enters Saturday’s game on a three-match (1-0-2) unbeaten line, even though they had to twice make equalization in last weekend’s 2-2 home draw with Orlando City FC. After Dennis Gjengaar scored New York’s second goal in the 47th minute, teammate Peter Stroud said he thought Red Bulls could have used more pressure for the rest of the second half.

“I think these games, especially late, especially at home, can use the audience’s energy more and drive to get the three points,” said Stroud.

Toronto FC has a 0-3-1 record in its first four matches. Last Saturday’s 2-1 loss to the Chicago fire, Toronto saw its first leadership of the season, but the fire went on for good before the end of the first half.

Toronto has allowed 10 goals, tied mostly in the league. New York is bound for the smallest goals that are allowed in any Easter Conference Club, with only three concessions in four matches.

“[The Red Bulls] Want you to play in some areas, and they make it difficult for you when you do, “said Toronto FC coach Robin Fraser.” And I think as much as possible we have to be really clean on the ball. We must be very aware of the passports we play for each other, certainly in the middle of the field. “

Important players on both teams will miss the match due to international calls. New York will be without starting goalkeeper Carlos Coronel, defender Omar Valencia and midfielder Gjengaar. Toronto will miss team captain Jonathan Osorio, midfielder Deybi Flores and striker Tyrese Spicer.

Forward Ola Brynhildsen will not play either, Fraser said. Brynhildsen was a late scratch from last Saturday’s lineup due to a lower bodily injury that continues to delay.
