Detroit Red Wings placed Center Andrew Copp on damaged reserve on Monday due to unclear damage without a timeline for his return.

In a corresponding move, Red Wings Center recalled the SHELDON DRIES from AHL Affiliate Grand Rapids

Copp, 30, was injured during the second period by 4-3 overtime loss to Minnesota Wild on Saturday. Copp missed the Red Wings’ 5-4 overtime victory against Anaheim Ducks on Sunday, and he will not travel with the team for Tuesday’s game on The Wild.

“We will know much more (Tuesday), but it looks like it might be longer than we expected,” said coach Todd McLellan Monday after the exercise.

Copp has 10 goals, 13 assists, a plus-4-grade, eight penalties and 35 blocks in 56 matches this season.

Winnipeg Jets chose Copp in the fourth round of the NHL draft 2013. He has 114 goals, 186 assists, a plus-73 rating, 149 penalty minutes and 371 blocks in 700 regular seasonal games for Jets (2014-2022), New York Rangers ( 2022) and Red Wings (2022 current).

Copp also has 26 points (nine goals, 17 assists), a minus-5 rating and 16 penalties in 54 playoffs.

Dries, 30, last played during the 2022-23 season for Vancouver Canucks. He has 16 goals, 10 assists, a minus-20 rating, 59 penalty minutes and 68 blocks in 122 matches for Colorado Avalanche (2018-21) and Canucks (2021-23).
