Broncos outside Linebacker’s coach Michael Wilhoite was accused of attacking a police officer during the weekend in Denver, several stores reported on Monday.
Wilhoite, 38, was booked in the Denver prison on Sunday on a non-bond. He has a court’s conduct on Monday on an accusation of suspicions of other degrees of a police officer, per report.
Broncos issued a statement that says they are aware of the situation and in the process of gathering more information.
The alleged incident reportedly occurred after Wilhoite released someone at Denver International Airport.
Wilhoite joined Bronco’s staff in 2023 after previously working for head coach Sean Payton as a defensive assistant and special team assistant from 2019-20. He was Linebacker’s coach for Los Angeles Chargers from 2021-22.
Wilhoite played Linebacker in the NFL for six seasons, registered 298 tackles and four interceptions in 79 matches (45 starts) with San Francisco 49ers (2012-16) and Seattle Seahawks (2017).
